Year 6 Production

Yesterday we watched the Year 6 production - "The Tempest", we didn't like it... We loved it!
We liked it when the characters acted drunk and the singing was incredible!

Well done Year 6!!

Wonderful Writing

Well, this may look like a mess but the children were in fact getting ready for a writing lesson!
They came up with some excellent words and phrases to describe a battlefield and then let a partner around the site describing it to them.
Stay tuned to read our incredible writing...

Perfect Prints

We have been looking at the work of Hokusai and "The Great Wave":

We looked at what was important to Hull's history and decided to focus on the fishing industry. We began making simple sketches of: fishing rods, lobster pots, boats, life jackets, The Deep, The Humber Bridge and anchors.
Then we pushed our design into polystyrene and tested it out in our books.

Finally see our finished work below:

Funky Folk Dancing

Today we got to try something new - Folk dancing! It was really tiring but worth all the effort because we had lots of fun!
Folk music has been passed down through generations but it wasn't written down, it was learnt by listening. The dance steps were very easy so they can be remembered and so everyone can join in.
Sam, who played the accordion, was amazing and very talented and funny.
We would love to do it again.

What is "freedom"?

This afternoon we were lucky enough to take part in a workshop with "One Day Creative". We did a bit of drama and learnt about the topic "Freedom".
We looked at what it was like to have freedom and then to have it taken away from us. We looked at a map to see which countries have freedom in 2017.

Here are some pictures of us taking part.
